My practice explores the materiality of place through process, experimentation, and transformation. Working with wild clay, peat, shale, basalt, sand, recycled materials, and plant matter, I approach materials as active collaborators that carry geological time, ecological memory, and traces of human history. Through an ongoing dialogue with these materials, forms emerge that reflect the complex relationships between fragility and resilience, extraction and regeneration, disruption and continuity.

Research is integral to my work. Recent projects have examined contemporary approaches to land-based practice, material agency, and environmental change, deepening my understanding of how materials embody narrative and hold embedded histories. These investigations inform a practice that is grounded in questions of ecology, place, and the evolving relationship between people and landscape.

Alongside sculpture and material-based processes, my practice has expanded into sound and film, exploring how moving image can extend the sensory and experiential dimensions of material inquiry. Through these media, I investigate themes of place, transformation, memory, and environmental change.

My socially engaged practice is an ongoing exploration of how places are embodied, altered, and remembered through matter. By working closely with materials and communities, I seek to reveal the stories, histories, and ecological relationships that shape our understanding of the world.

Recent projects include a documentary filmmaking collaboration in Jaipur, Rajasthan, with Michigan State University and the Indian Institute of Craft and Design. The resulting film was screened at the Crafts, Camera, Culture Film Festival at the Rajasthan International Centre and selected for the Centre of Integrative Studies Film Sessions at Michigan State University. In 2026, For Peatland Sake, a work exploring the ecological significance of peatlands and their role in addressing the climate emergency, was selected for exhibition during London Craft Week.
